ROLAND STORE PRODUCT SPECIALIST

Hours: Full Time

THE POSITION:

We are about to open a brand-new Roland and BOSS showroom at Fair Deal Music in Birmingham, where we will show-cases the very best of our products to new, aspiring and experienced musicians alike.

Can you deliver fantastic customer experiences, in store, on the phone or on-line —and great results—working alongside an experienced retail team?

ROLE PURPOSE:

As a Roland Store Product Specialist, we’re looking for someone to assume the responsibility for our new Store in Store at Fair Deal Music in Birmingham.

Your job is to really understand our customers and turn their aspirations into reality.

You’ll be having 121 discussions (on-line and in-store), showing them the perfect products from Roland and BOSS, through demonstrations, via exciting instore and online events, and through regular social media activity. Gathering appropriate customer information to ensure a continued customer journey with Roland will be central to the role.

You will also be ensuring that our host’s website reflects our brand, products and Store in Store, to the standards we expect, and you’ll need to perform the usual requirements of running a retail store; from presentation to stock control, to regular reporting.

 EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• The ability to deliver a fantastic customer-focused experience, whether online or offline.
• You need to be as comfortable in front of the camera, or on the telephone as you are face-to-face in the store.
• A strong interest in music, with the ability to do a hands-on demonstration. We don’t need a musical virtuoso, but we do need someone who can play with confidence and present our products in the best possible light.
• Being able to play piano and keyboard to a good standard is particularly important, and if you play the drums, that is a great bonus.
• A good understanding of music technology—as well as the ability to absorb new information readily and easily; and be able to pass this knowledge on to others
• You need to be an accomplished and skilled salesperson (ideally in a retail environment), with a desire to grow the retail business.
• Communication skills to comfortably converse, build relationships and interact appropriately with individuals, customers, and the wider Roland/BOSS team team—at all levels.
• Ideally experience in planning, organizing, and implementing events—online or offline—using the usual social media channels.
• The ability to work as part of a team in the store and the wider Roland retail team, but also independently to ensure the success of the Store in Store.
• The ability to react to challenges while remaining calm.
• The confidence and organisational skills to manage all aspects of a busy retail environment
